To most, a new year is a fresh start - it's like clicking refresh on a web page that you've been having an issue accessing or pressing that imaginary "re-do" button we all wish existed in some situations!
And I'm sure all of you are familiar with the popular New Year saying, "New Year, New Me" - but is that really still a thing? Because although things happen that we wish didn't - you didn't lose! You either won or learnt a valuable lesson and the person you are, reading this right now, is sharper than you were when that happened!
New goals are also not necessarily mandatory. I personally believe that the best starting point is the previous year's goals. I often use these to compare what actually happened to what I set out to happen and from that result I determine if my old goal is still relevant or just needs a "new look."
I use specific categories to create or tweak my goals and in recent times I've preferred to organize them via a digital vision board as opposed to a physical one and you can learn all about this here!
Last year, my biggest realization was that my success was stifled by my lack of discipline and consistency (guess what my words are for this year! 😉)
Ever had an idea, created a plan you felt deep in your bones was solid and then when the time came for action - you felt it wasn’t "the right time," you needed to fix or do something else in order to do it, you thought it was better to start "tomorrow," you needed to give yourself "grace," Netflix was calling your name, you already worked so hard on the man’s job and you’re exhausted or you simply just didn’t feel like it?! And somehow all of these scenarios you found justifiable?!
Yup! That's me too, but I’m going to be intentional. Intentional about getting up (whether I feel like it or not), showing up (consistently in whatever form that looks like from day to day), dressing up (because when you look good, you feel good!) and stepping outside of my comfort zone to build the life I’ve dreamed of and to fulfill my purpose! And I hope this for you too!
May all you hear this year is "Congratulations!" and here's to all of us getting up, dressing up, showing up and stepping into purpose and position! 😘
Speaking of dressing up - you know your girl is always here for an affordable look - this look (pictured) cost me only $16.00!I grabbed this in two colors - because, why not?! If you can see yourself stepping into purpose and position rocking this, here's a link for you to get your: Plaid Dress (its airy, stretchable and has shoulder pads!) and make sure you're following my LikeToKnowIt Page for exclusive details of all of my looks (SO much more to come)!

Intentional is my motivation word for the year. Let’s make things happen!!!
I love this content. You look absolutely beautiful no doubt you feel good and energized for this New Year! My words for this year too are “self-discipline and Consistency” in addition to “invest and peace”. I wish you all the best and “Congratulations” on being consistent with your content so far and being consistently gorgeous!
Here’s to getting up, dressing up and showing up your best self in 2022! I love the blog, happy new year!

I feel the exact same way!! Success is dependent on the work you put in, not some resolution or word of the year.
